About Us

Community Care Bridge is a youth-led community initiative dedicated to listening to, preserving, and sharing the life stories of elderly people, especially seniors who have limited family support or few opportunities to tell their stories.

We believe every person carries memories worth preserving. For many older adults, everyday experiences of growing up, working, raising families, overcoming difficulties, and adapting to change can disappear if no one takes the time to listen. Through simple one-on-one interviews, our volunteers give seniors a chance to reflect on their lives and share the moments, people, and lessons that have mattered to them.

Our interviews are not intended to focus only on extraordinary achievements. In fact, many of the stories we document are about ordinary lives: a first job, a childhood neighborhood, family traditions, difficult years, favorite memories, or small pieces of advice learned over a lifetime. Together, these stories provide a personal record of communities and generations that are gradually changing.

Community Care Bridge also hopes to create meaningful connections between younger and older generations. By sitting down with seniors and listening carefully to their experiences, young volunteers gain a better understanding of the lives that came before them, while elderly participants have an opportunity to feel heard, remembered, and connected to the wider community.

Whenever appropriate and with the participant’s permission, selected interviews are preserved in written or digital form so that their stories can be shared with others and remain available for future generations.

At its heart, Community Care Bridge is built on a simple idea: sometimes the most meaningful form of care begins by taking the time to listen.
